New York Times and Duke Libs: Cancel Annoying Democracy

I have long contended that Leftists only like democracy when they win.  Their eagerness to use the courts to overturn state referendums and laws with which they disagree is only one manifestation of their contempt for constitutional democracy.

Now the New York Times has just illustrated my contention by publishing an op-ed by a Duke professor and student titled “Cancel the Midterms”.

That is not a joke.  And, yes, when I first heard of this, I thought it might be an internet prank.  But this column is for real.  The authors really do think we should do away with midterm elections.

But I am sure that has nothing to do with the defeat Obama and Democrats got in 2010 and the one they may be about to get tomorrow.

This would be the first step. The next step would be for the Democrats/Leftist/Liberal-Progressives to cheat their way to near complete control and then ban all conservatives (both voters and politicians) through the elimination of free speech by perverting the First Amendment. Finally with that done they could declare the Constitution a nice but outmoded historic document and install their Party as the Official Government. Welcome Comrade to the New Soviet Union.
