CNBC “Reporter” John Harwood’s Links to Hillary Exposed in Leak

The numerous leaked e-mails that expose “reporter” John Harwood of CNBC practically being part of the Hillary Clinton campaign give three object lessons.

1.  The utter corruption and brazen bias of the so-called mainstream news media.  I don’t call it the Democrat News Media for nothing.

2.  I am so right sometimes, I amaze myself.  No I was not aware of just how tight Harwood was with the DemocRATS.  But I knew just from watching him that he was a Democrat hack.  These tweets, for example:

The latter tweet was prompted by him pretty much saying Trump lied when he said Hillary started the Birther stuff.  Yet it is videotaped common knowledge that Hillary floated the question of Obama’s birth during the 2008 campaign.

3. If you listen to me more and the manifestly corrupt Democrat News Media less, you will do well.

About Those Switched House Votes

Yesterday, there was quite a commotion on the floor of the House of Representatives about an amendment pushed by the Gay Mafia.  Several Republicans switched their votes to defeat it, which prompted Democrats to carry on and play the outrage game.

Oh, you want a less biased view of what happened?  Here is The Hill’s reporting:

The failed amendment would have effectively nullified a provision in the defense authorization that the House passed late Wednesday night. The language embedded in the defense bill states that religious corporations, associations and institutions that receive federal contracts can't be discriminated against on the basis of religion.

Democrats warn that such a provision could potentially allow discrimination against the LGBT community in the name of religious freedom. Maloney's amendment specifically would prohibit funds to implement contracts with any company that doesn't comply with President Obama's executive orderbanning federal contractors from discriminating against LGBT workers.

Thus what Republicans voted down was another attempt to put LGBT demands over religious freedom.  The Obama regime has already attacked religious freedom among the military and pushed political correctness and the LGBTQXYZ agenda in the armed forces as well.  The amendment would have furthered that.  A narrow majority in the House rightly said, “No.”

But that is not how it being reported.  Fakebook Facebook is yet again a negative example of media bias, describing the story this way in its trending section:

No mention of the religious freedom issues involved in the headline.  One would think it was all about the mean majority defeating the rights of those poor, put upon, LGBT people.

And elsewhere one has to dig deep to find out that the defeated amendment would have further eroded freedom of religion.  Even (especially?) a Google search is not as helpful as it should be to get to the heart of the matter - that this was a fight over freedom of religion.

But the LGBTQXYZ agenda is so much more important than Freedom of Religion to the “mainstream” media and Silicon Valley, don’t you know.

Anyway, although I have studies to attend to, I wanted to do my part to blow the cover off this spin from Silicon Valley and the “mainstream” Democrat news media.

Fed Judge Rules for Protecting Free Speech from Kamala Harris

Yes, I’ve been quiet this week.  I’ve been fighting off a virus or two, but am doing much better now.

I have some catching up to do, but want to present to you a ruling that protects, for now, the anonymity of donors to Americans for Prosperity.  California Attorney General Kamala Harris – yes, that feminazi again – sought to find out the names.

The ruling is worth reading in part because it itemizes several of the attacks and threats from Leftists against conservatives.  They move the judge to conclude, “this Court is not prepared to wait until an AFP opponent carries out one of the numerous death threats made against its members.”

This episode is quite an eye-opener on the predations of Leftist Brown Shirts . . . and on Leftist politicians like Kamala Harris who enable them.

She, of course, is appealing the ruling to the very liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  Her political opposition must be harassed and crushed.

By the way, if you had conservative activists engaged in the numerous instances of attacks and harassment listed in the ruling, do you think the noos media would be so quiet about it?

IRS Cover-Up Continues

Yes, the IRS Scandal may seem like old news (And I will get into one reason why in a minute.), but there has been an interesting development of late.   The Sixth U. S. Court of Appeals has openly showed they are fed up with IRS slowness to fork over key court-ordered documents.

Among the most serious allegations a federal court can address are that an executive agency has targeted citizens for mistreatment based on their political views. No citizen—Republican or Democrat, socialist or libertarian —should be targeted or even have to fear being targeted on those grounds. Yet those are the grounds on which the plaintiffs allege they were mistreated by the IRS here. The allegations are substantial: most are drawn from findings made by the Treasury Department’s own Inspector General for Tax Administration. Those findings include that the IRS used political criteria to round up applications for tax-exempt status filed by so called tea-party groups; that the IRS often took four times as long to process tea-party applications as other applications; and that the IRS served tea-party applicants with crushing demands for what the Inspector General called “unnecessary information.”

. . . At every turn the IRS has resisted the plaintiffs’ requests for information regarding the IRS’s treatment of the plaintiff class, eventually to the open frustration of the district court. At issue here are IRS “Be On the Lookout” lists of organizations allegedly targeted for unfavorable treatment because of their political beliefs. Those organizations in turn make up the plaintiff class. The district court ordered production of those lists, and did so again over an IRS motion to reconsider. Yet, almost a year later, the IRS still has not complied with the court’s orders. Instead the IRS now seeks from this court a writ of mandamus, an extraordinary remedy reserved to correct only the clearest abuses of power by a district court. We deny the petition.

And the court then more or less tells the IRS there had better be no more delays.

A federal agency caught targeting citizens based on their politics then being verrrrry slowwww to cooperate with the federal courts concerning the scandal to the point a Federal Appeals Court says they’ve had enough of the foot-dragging and cover-up.  Newsworthy, is it not?

The thing is the Mainstream “News” Media, particularly ABC, NBC, and CBS have joined the cover-up.  It has been over 513 days since any of the Big Three have reported on the IRS Scandal.

No wonder it seems like old news.  The Democrats and the Mainstream Noos Media (But I repeat myself.) want it that way.

Thus the IRS Cover-Up continues.

Imagine the media uproar if this were a Republican administration.

Knee Update:  The knee is worse than I had thought.  I definitely have a tear in my inside right meniscus, and it’s not a small one.  I did think I was getter better.  But it flared up badly and suddenly yesterday morning.  So it is hardly better than it was weeks ago.

Democrat News Media

The adventures of George Stephanopoulos illustrate why I don’t call it the Democrat News Media for nothing.  The so-called  “Mainstream” “News” Media  has become little more than the public relations/hatchet men arm of the Democrat Party.

Report: Brian Williams Will Not Be Punished (I don’t believe it.)

Yes, there is a report out that Brian Williams will not be punished for his serial lies on his helicopter ride in Iraq.  But I do not believe it.  With even Tom Brokaw appalled and wanting Williams’ “head on a platter,” it is difficult for me to see how Williams can keep his job.  And surely NBC values its undeserved credibility more than that.

But one conservative devoutly hopes he does indeed keep his job, and it is hard for me to disagree.

If the network continues to keep a serial fabricator on board, it will convince many of those who still buy what the press is selling that something is fundamentally wrong. That would be a fantastic development, because something is fundamentally wrong. The self-described watchdogs have instead become the left’s gatekeepers. The sooner everyone appreciates that, the better it will be for all.

Perhaps the 15-point head start Evan Thomas once boasted that press bias often gives Democratic Party political candidates in contested elections might begin to disappear. Legislative proposals might once again be discussed on their merits instead of being pre-judged favorably or unfavorably based on who is presenting them. The whole truth about the nation’s dire financial and economic circumstances, its outrageous cronyism and corruption, and the two-party, one-mindset elitists who run it, might finally penetrate the minds of everyday, non-news junky Americans.

We can always dream. Keep that dream alive, NBC. Keep Brian Williams right where he is.

Sorry If I Offend in 2015 . . . Or Not

During the ten, soon eleven, years of this blog, I have oft deliberated on how aggressive I should be with the truth and with my opinions . . . which rarely diverge, although it does happen.

I am self-aware enough to know tact is not one of my strong points.  And I know that we are to “speak the truth in love” with neither truth nor love being optional, and I do wrestle with that scripture.  So, believe it or not, I pull punches often.  Sometimes I think I best leave a topic alone.  Or I sleep on something before ranting opining on it.

But although what the world needs now is love, sweet love, it seems to be perhaps even more in need of truth at the moment.  For 2014 was the year of the lie, particularly lefty lies.

Students of Leftist politics, such as my unfortunate self, have long known that many/most Leftists put their causes and their narratives above inconvenient facts and truths.  This first truly hit me when I analyzed news coverage in both my work and studies during the 80’s.  The lies I saw were so brazen and pervasive it practically made me sick at times.  And the culture has gotten worse since.  The past year stands out in that regard with “Hands up, don’t shoot,” with “rape culture” lies and exaggerations, with Obama continuing to be Obama, with “News” Media continuing to engage in propagandizing more than informing, etc.

But truth will win in the end.  Yes, I do need to remind myself of that frequently.  And the best remedy for lies is the proclamation of truth. So I think 2015 is a time to become more aggressive with the truth, and I intend so to do.

Now, of course, nothing offends like truth and inconvenient facts.  And in asserting the truth, we, nay I, need to be careful not to add needless offense to the truth.  But lies are so pervading and warping our culture, the need for the truth is urgent.  And I intend so to guide this blog and my even more inflammatory twitter account as well.

And if telling it like it is offends . . . well, too bad.

New York Times and Duke Libs: Cancel Annoying Democracy

I have long contended that Leftists only like democracy when they win.  Their eagerness to use the courts to overturn state referendums and laws with which they disagree is only one manifestation of their contempt for constitutional democracy.

Now the New York Times has just illustrated my contention by publishing an op-ed by a Duke professor and student titled “Cancel the Midterms”.

That is not a joke.  And, yes, when I first heard of this, I thought it might be an internet prank.  But this column is for real.  The authors really do think we should do away with midterm elections.

But I am sure that has nothing to do with the defeat Obama and Democrats got in 2010 and the one they may be about to get tomorrow.

Wouldn’t It Be Nice . . .

. . . If the Snooze Media paid half as much attention to Obama’s scandals, such as IRS targeting, Benghazi, Fast and Furious, etc. etc. as they are to attacking the NFL?

Methinks the Democrat News Media’s priorities are a bit off.

Democrat News Media: Clinton Hack to Become Chief Anchor at ABC News

Yes, this is something of a Dog Bites Man story.  But long-time Democrat hack George Stephanopoulos (Remember him from the Clinton White House?) is becoming the chief anchor at ABC News.  Yes, a Clinton hack just in time for Hillary’s White House run.  (David Muir will anchor the evening “World News.”)

Yes, too predictable.  But it gives me an opportunity to announce a new policy.  I will no longer call ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, The New York Times, etc. ad nauseam the “Mainstream News Media,” not even in scare quotes.  From henceforth, I will use “Democrat News Media.”  For that is what they are, and, unlike past days, they no longer make much of an effort to be unbiased or even appear to be unbiased.  Their coverage, if it can be called that, of the various Obama scandals, pretty much puts the last nail in the coffin of their credibility.  The vast majority of the time, they tilt or even suppress their coverage to advance the agenda of the Democrat Party.  Heck, they even engage in literally cheerleading Democrats as I noted two days ago.

(That CNN incident and “news” media treatment of the Obama scandals were the last straws for me, by the way, in prompting this blog policy change.)

They are hardly mainstream and have not been for years.  They are unofficial propaganda organs of the Democrat Party and should be treated as such.  And, henceforth, that is exactly what I will do.

CNN Caught Cheerleading for Hillary

And by “cheerleading”, I do mean actual, literal cheerleading.

When CNN rolled out the red carpet for Hillary Clinton’s town-hall interview with Christiane Amanpour, they did more than just build a set and invite an audience to participate. According to the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple, who attended the event, CNN warmed up the crowd for Hillary and even coached them on how to cheer and make noise to demonstrate enthusiasm for the former Secretary of State.

There's more here.  But all the talk about the “Mainstream” News Media being in the tank for Democrats is just right-wing paranoia, don’tcha know.

The Benghazi Cover-up and the CBS-Obama-Hillary Love Triangle UPDATED

First a quick summary of what has transpired this week on Benghazi.  Just released e-mails are pretty much a smoking gun that the White House was behind the false talking points narrative that Benghazi was about a sorry youtube video, not a failure to protect against organized (and predictable) terrorist attack.  The White House had long denied being behind the talking points.  The most incriminating e-mail was written by Ben Rhodes, President Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Lying Communication.  Yes, that’s in the White House.  Ben Rhodes - remember that name.

Then yesterday, Obama’s Press Secretary Jay Carney dug in deeper by lying about the e-mails, saying they really were not about Benghazi (SNORT!).  That was too much even for some of the snooze media.  There were sharp and skeptical questions for a change.

Yet CBS ignored Benghazi on last night’s Evening News.  Hmmm. 

A careful reading of Ace’s post yesterday evening might explain why.  It takes an excellent article by ex-CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson and runs with it.  I will not duplicate their excellent work.  But I will mention that one Mike Morell, then Deputy Director of the C.I.A., was also knee deep in editing the false talking points.

Now who just happens to be Ben Rhodes’ brother?  David Rhodes, President of CBS News.  And where does Mike Morell just happen to be now?  Attkisson reveals:

Morell has since gone to work as counsel for Beacon Global Strategies, a strategic relations PR firm dominated by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton officials and Obama administration officials. (Disclosure: In January, Morell was hired as an analyst for CBS News where I was previously employed.)

And the CBS Evening News ignored Benghazi last night.

When news media is that in bed with a regime, you do not get news sources worthy of trust.  You get participants in government cover-ups. You get Pravda . . . and CBS News.

Sharyl Attkisson today revealed that she suggested CBS News disclose that CBS President David Rhodes is the brother of Ben Rhodes during Benghazi stories.  The answer to her suggestion was no; that said information was unnecessary and irrelevant.

Yeah, I’m sure that relation has nothing to do with CBS’s participation in the Benghazi cover-up.

Yee Arrest Exposes “Democrat Operatives With By-Lines”

I would hope none of my well informed readers have any doubts that the U. S. “mainstream” “news” media are more interested in lib/left propaganda than in actual news.  But if any doubt, I invite them to examine national “news” media coverage, nay the lack thereof, of the Leland Yee arrest.

Leland Yee is a California Democrat State Senator and candidate for CA Secretary of State (or was) who has been all about gun control.  But now he has been arrested for alleged gun trafficking for starters, with Filipino Muslim terrorist groups no less.  Gun control for you serfs; gun running for him.

It makes for a very interesting story, does it not?  Well the liberal snooze media is not so interested, as Glenn Reynolds points out.  It does not fit their narrative:

The New York Times buried the story as a one-paragraph Associated Press report on page A21, with the bland dog-bites-man headline, "California: State Senator Accused of Corruption." This even though Yee was suspended, along with two others, from the California state senate in light of the indictment.

CNN, home (also until last week) of Piers Morgan, whom Yee had praised for his anti-gun activism, didn't report the story at all.

Moreover, the story did not even appear on CNN’s search engine.  And I searched for “Leland Yee” just now at CNN, and the story still is not there.  But his pushing a bill about violent video games back in 2010 is.  Yet . . .

When prodded by viewers, the network snarked that it doesn't do state senators. Which is odd, because searching the name of my own state senator, Stacey Campfield, turns up a page of results, involving criticisms of him for saying something "extreme". Meanwhile, CNN found time to bash Wisconsin state senator and supporter of Gov. Scott Walker, Randy Hopper over marital problems.

But there's a difference. They're Republicans. When Republicans do things that embarrass their party, the national media are happy to take note, even if they're mere state senators. But when Democrats like Yee get busted for actual felonies, and pretty dramatic ones at that, the press suddenly isn't interested.

And it is also interesting that when the snooze media does report on busted Democrooks, they often neglect to mention the party of the perp.

It's almost as if "what's news" is just a synonym for "what advances the narrative chosen by the Democratic Party." The question that "news" operations like CNN may want to ask is, how many people are really interested in getting their news from party organs.

Exactly.  Again, with “news” media conduct through the decades and now with their disinterest in the Leland Yee gunrunning arrest, is there any doubt that most of “mainstream” “news” media are simply Democrat operatives with by-lines?

Two stories have come out in recent days that confirm that lefty “non-partisan” “think” tanks and the “mainstream” “news” media are willing tools of the Obama Administration.

First, a former Think Progress blogger has come out and said the Center of American Progress was very upset with him for an article critical of Obama’s Afghanistan policy.  For it created “daylight” between the CAP and Obama.  Supporting the Dear Leader is more important than actual thinking, don’tcha know.

Second, Sharyl Attkisson has resigned from CBS News.  The reasons are pretty much an open secret.  She had the temerity to do actual investigative reporting of the Obama Administration, particularly on Fast and Furious and on Benghazi.  And investigative reporting is not so appreciated at CBS now that the Dear Leader gloriously rules.  In fact, her stories dropped by about two-thirds in making the CBS Evening Propaganda News since Obama began his reign.

And, sure enough, one source has said, “It’s no secret that Sharyl has been unhappy about CBS’s lack of interest in investigative reporting, especially when it comes to stories about the Obama administration.”

She is working on a book now.  The tentative title? Stonewalled: One Reporter’s Fight for Truth in Obama’s Washington. 

I might have to buy that one.

But do not trust lib/left think tanks or the “mainstream” “news” media if you want anything approximating the truth about the Obama Administration.  Tools are not that interested in the truth.

NPR Plays the Race Card With Hilarious Results

For National Public Radio, the defeat of Obama’s nomination of Debo Adegbile to head the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department was not because he is a noxious radical and an apologist for an unrepentant cop killer.  No, it was because “a handful of Southern Democrats” voted to keep the Black Man down.

Well *ahem* here are those “Southern Democrats” who voted against the nomination of Debo Adegbile:

Bob Casey (PENNSYLVANIA),

Mark Pryor (Arkansas),

By the way, your taxes pay for NPR and their Race Card playing.  And if you don’t like that, you must be RACIST.

I expect this vote may come back to haunt some of the Senators who voted for the nomination, particularly Shaheen, Warner, Hagan, and Landrieu . . . because of RACISM.

UPDATE: FCC Backs Off (for now)

I am heartened to see that the FCC got such an earful on their plan to pressure news outlets away from any subversive conservative bias that they have backed off . . . for now at least.

But that not before Michael Graham told them quite clearly what they could do with their pointed questions.

I wish the rest of the news media had his backbone.  I wish.

Thoughts on Bridgegate (or Now I Annoy Everyone)

First, I should be open and say I used to be a fan of Chris Christie, but that was years ago now.  If, God forbid, he got the Republican nomination for president, I might have to consider voting third party.

Having got that out of the way, I watched most of his marathon press conference yesterday and was impressed.  I thought he handled the situation about as well as it could be handled, and he certainly came across as sincere about it. 

My first reaction afterwards was that he will probably weather this.  But on further reflection, I am not so sure. 

Although closing the I-95 bridge into New York City may be an outlier, it is not isolated.  Christie has a reputation as something of a bully. “I am not a bully” could come back to haunt him.  And his staff. . . .  Let’s just say his staff has a bipartisan reputation for being . . . not nice. (LANGUAGE WARNING)

I have had Congressmen, Governors, and the staffers of Congressmen and Governors tell me horror stories about dealing with Christie’s people. All of them seem to dread it.

One congressman told me he wanted to talk to Christie about a matter and the staff would not put him through and would not even give him the Chief of Staff to talk to.

A Governor told me that Christie’s staff treats incumbent governors as if they are low level staffers there to serve as Chris Christie’s advance team.

A Chief of Staff of a Governor once told me that Christie’s staff began lecturing the Chief of Staff’s Governor about the set up of an event and what that Governor needed to say. Both the Chief of Staff and Governor were rather hacked off by the arrogant tone.

Another senior staffer told me that after dealing with Christie for an event, they decided they’d rather focus on drawing celebrities for instate functions because the riders and demands of celebrities tend to be much easier to deal with.

No wonder Republicans have not exactly been rushing to the microphones to defend Christie.

Christie surrounded himself with . . . not nice people and they have acted not nice.  That is Christie’s fault.  And several in the news media are no doubt sniffing around for other instances of not nice scandalous bullying.  So I doubt the political damage to Christie is done.

And I have no problem with the news media looking into the dealings of Christie and his staff.  If a big state governor and presidential contender and/or his staff is running his state this way, that is indeed newsworthy, and I am glad to see it come out. 

But I do have a big problem with the media double standard here.  Take just one of the Obama Administration scandals, IRS targeting.  Using the IRS to target and muzzle political adversaries is an outrage of much more import than disrupting bridge traffic.  And Obama appointing political thugs to the IRS in large part brought this about, not unlike Bridgegate.  But has the news media gone after that with much zeal?

The Media Research Center has provided a measure of just how enormous the media double standard is here.  In 24 hours, the Big Three networks gave 17 times more coverage to Bridgegate than they gave in the past six months to the IRS scandal.

Again, my problem is not the attention given to Bridgegate.  I am glad to see it.  The problem is with the news media downplaying and enabling the Obama Regime’s IRS abuses.

On a lighter note, there is another Christie quote that will likely be repeated: “I am enormously flattered that folks would talk about me in my party as someone who they think could be a candidate for president.”
