Boehner Reveals Establishment Attitudes Toward Trump, Cruz

Former Speaker Boehner must have had a few before appearing at Stanford last night.  For he let it all hang out, especially in his attitudes toward Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

Much of the discussion – and laughs – focused on Boehner’s views on the current presidential candidates. Segueing into the topic, Kennedy asked Boehner to be frank given that the event was not being broadcasted, and the former Speaker responded in kind. When specifically asked his opinions on Ted Cruz, Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd.

“Lucifer in the flesh,” the former speaker said. “I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”

Boehner described other Republican candidates as friends. In particular, the former speaker said he has played golf with Donald Trump for years and that they were “texting buddies.”

Further, he said he could vote for Trump in November, but could not vote for Cruz.  And he was the Republican leader in the House?  Can you say “RINO”?

This confirms to me that Boehner is a back-stabbing traitorous establishment tool who had to go.  But that is done, thank God.

So more important is what this says about Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.  As Carly Fiorina well said yesterday, Ted Cruz has the right kind of enemies.  Clearly Boehner is one of them.

So why is Trump the anti-establishment candidate?  He’s one of Boehner’s “texting buddies.”  He is a big contributor to the Clintons and to any number of other Democrats.

But he and not Boehner’s enemy Ted Cruz is the anti-establishment candidate?

A lot of people aren’t thinking.

BOEHNER TO RESIGN

I had something else in mind to post, but I cannot let pass the news that Speaker Boehner will resign in October.

He has not yet announced it, but I suspect what is behind this.  He is determined to avoid a government shutdown even if that means continuing to fund the baby butchers of Planned Parenthood among other enormities.  He realizes his position among House Republicans would be untenable then.  So he is going to push through the crap sandwich then fall on his sword rather than become a de facto Democrat Speaker of the House.  Again, this is my speculation.

In any case, I am very glad to see him go.  If my and other congressmen had done their duty it would have happened a long time ago.

By the way, if you follow my twitter, you knew about this before the great unwashed:

Closer to Permanent Tyranny . . . and a Third Party

I have several observations about Boehner’s cave on funding DHS and Obama’s illegal Immigration Action.

First, let there be no doubt about it – Boehner and McConnell planned to cave on this all along.  They and their Chamber of Commerce masters want to import cheap labor as much as Obama wants to import Democrats.  And although the Failure Twins were put in their positions by voters wanting to stop Obama, they do not share that priority, not much anyway.  Ace has it right:

Each of Boehner's and McConnell's "defeats" are in fact planned in advance. They are not trying to advance the conservative agenda; they are attempting to con conservatives into believing they have attempted to implement conservative policy, when in fact they were delivering their political deliverables to their Donor Class paymasters all along.

Second, because of this cave, we are closer to a prolonged to permanent tyranny voted for by imported and bought Democrats.  The venerable Phyllis Schlafly is as right as always:

The Obama Democrats have an audacious scheme for winning future elections. They just plan to import 5 million non-citizens and credential them as voters who will, in gratitude, vote Democratic.

The way this devious formula works is stunningly simple. Just get the new Republican Congress (under Speaker John Boehner and Sen. Mitch McConnell) to pass a full-funding bill for Homeland Security without any exception for the funding of Obama's illegal executive amnesty, which will allow Obama to give work permits, Social Security numbers and driver's licenses to 5 million illegal aliens.

Once the 5 million so-called undocumented persons are given those valuable documents, there is no way to stop them from voting. That conclusion is drawn from the testimony of voting experts such as Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who told the U.S. House Oversight Committee on Feb. 12, "It's a guarantee it will happen."

Kobach's warning was reinforced by testimony before the same committee by Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, who noted that the 5 million non-citizens would receive the "same documents that federal law requires the states to recognize as valid forms of identification for voter registration." And once an alien registers to vote, Kobach said, it is "virtually impossible" to remove him from the voter rolls.

And, as Schlafly goes on to say, the imported Democrats will get lots of welfare goodies, paid for by us sucker taxpayers, of course, to keep them voting Democrat.

Third, we are now that much closer to a strong third party in America.  The Republican base, including me, is fed up.  We voted strong in 2014 and gave a clear mandate to the new Republican Congress: S.T.O.P.  O.B.A.M.A.  Yet we get this?  We still get Republicans lying down and enabling Obama’s tyranny?

As I noted in December, the Republican establishment does not get the political danger.  They do not get the breadth of the anger.  But if they nominate a Jeb Bush after caving again and again to Obama, they will get it all right.  They will get a third party/independent run as has not been seen for decades.

Boehner and Cantor Should Go

The debacle of the defeat of “Plan B” last night is the last straw.  Speaker Boehner, along with his smarmy sidekick Eric Cantor, have cowered before Obama, yet again publicly negotiated with himself, purged and alienated conservatives particularly in his own caucus, and made Republicans look like fools (which perhaps they are).  Both on principle and in politics, he is a failure. All this when since 2010 he had the power to stand firm, pass responsible legislation and let the Democrats deal with it.

Enough!  Boehner and Cantor should for once do the right thing.

They should both resign.

The Comedian-in-Chief and the Squeaker of the House (or None Dare Call it Conspiracy)

I was having trouble getting my arms around the current sordid budget wrangling in Washington . . . until I had an epiphany.

The President and the Speaker are secretly conspiring to provoke the creation of a major third party.

They certainly are not trying very hard to do much on the deficit. That Boehner of a budget deal is looking worse and worse. Not only tea partiers, but also more mainstream conservatives are saying no and agreeing that this is “strike one against the speakership of John Boehner.”

As for Obama, his speech yesterday plunged to new depths of demagoguery, lies, and class warfare. Listening to it (Yes. I must stop my habit of self-punishment.), I was angry at first.

But later on, I found myself laughing again and again. I really think Obama has a career as a stand-up comedian after 2012. I mean saying things like Obamacare will reduce the deficit (SNORT!) and . . .

“One vision has been championed by Republicans in the House of Representatives and embraced by several of their party’s presidential candidates…This is a vision that says up to 50 million Americans have to lose their health insurance in order for us to reduce the deficit. And who are those 50 million Americans? Many are someone’s grandparents who wouldn’t be able afford nursing home care without Medicaid. Many are poor children. Some are middle-class families who have children with autism or Down’s syndrome. Some are kids with disabilities so severe that they require 24-hour care. These are the Americans we’d be telling to fend for themselves.”

. . . with a straight face is high comedic talent! Throw Grandma from the Train, move over!

I love one congressman’s take on the speech:

Dallas Rep. Jeb Hensarling, kicking off a House GOP leadership rebuttal event, says President Barack Obama's debt-reduction speech this afternoon set "a new standard for class warfare."

He was honored that the White House invited him to attend the speech at George Washington University, he said. But once he heard what Obama had to say, his main thought was: "And I missed lunch for this?"

But, as I said, what I really think is going on is Obama and Boehner are secretly working together to bring about a major third party. Why else would they alienate so many with phony budget deals and absurd demagoguery? Only the most brain dead Democrats and wimpy RINOs are happy with the leaders of their party at the moment.

(Disclaimer: I do not support the formation of a third “tea party.” But I think both Obama and Boehner are asking for it.)
