Benghazi Resignations a Sham

Over the first days of Christmas, this escaped even my attention, so in case it escaped yours . . . .

Remember those resignations of State Department officials over Benghazi?  They are a sham.  Those who supposedly resigned will be soon returning to work at State.  It’s just desk switching and long vacations to give the appearance of accountability.

Silly me to think the Obama Administration was capable of any accountability.

Benghazi Summarized UPDATED

I have been hesitant to post further on what can now be called the Benghazi scandal.  For the Obama Administration and their enablers in the news media have thrown up enough mirrors and fog to make it difficult to get one’s arms around this.  (Not-so-by-the-way, imagine media reporting of this if a Republican administration had acted as the current White House has.)

But I’ve come across an excellent succinct summary of Benghazi.  Please read it for yourself.  But if I may further condense the most important points:

1. Obama and his people knew what transpired in Benghazi on 9-11.

2. He, and they, lied about it again and again.

3. Most despicably, they made a youtube video maker the scapegoat and “for all intents and purposes a political prisoner being held because he exercised his First Amendment rights.”

4. Obama has showed himself to not only be utterly negligent but also completely untrustworthy.

Some are speculating that Benghazi and the subsequent lying are dragging Obama down.

I sure hope so.

UPDATE: Right after I posted, this huge story broke.

The question now is who decided to order the CIA to stand down during the Benghazi attack?  I would think that is the sort of decision made at “the highest levels”, as they say.

Remember that I warned of coming damaging (to Obama) intelligence leaks after Biden threw the intelligence community under the bus during the VP Debate.  It’s happening.

The VP Debate Summarized

I am a bit behind on getting things done today.  So I will have to keep this brief.

I think the most important moment of the debate was Joe Biden claiming on Libya, “We weren’t told they wanted more security there. . . We did not know they wanted more security there.”

Given repeated reports and testimony that our people in Libya did ask the Obama Administration for more security, this reveals either gross incompetence or more lying . . . probably both actually.

Also important is that Biden pinned a lot of blame on supposed bad intelligence.  It would not surprise me to see more leaks that debunk that line.  For I doubt our intelligence community appreciates being thrown under the bus to cover up for Obama.

There’s a good post on those two points over at Hot Air.

As far as the debate as a whole, I cannot summarize it better than Proverbs 29:9 (ESV):

If a wise man has an argument with a fool,
the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet.

Downright prophetic.

Obama Administration Withdrew Special Ops Team from Benghazi Before 9-11 Attack

More and more keeps coming out about the Obama Administration’s willful negligence in defending our ambassador and staff in Libya.

The latest is that, in August, the Obama Administration withdrew a 16 member Special Ops team from Libya assigned to protecting the ambassador and embassy staff in spite of Ambassador Stevens’ pleas about security and desire that the Special Ops team stay.

U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens wanted a Security Support Team, made up of 16 special operations soldiers, to stay with him in Libya after their deployment was scheduled to end in August, the commander of that security team told ABC News.

The embassy staff’s “first choice was for us to stay,” Lt. Col. Andrew Wood, 55, told ABC News in an interview. “That would have been the choice of the embassy people in Tripoli.” …

Asked for comment to the memo and Wood’s comments, a spokesman for the House Oversight Committee told ABC News: “Diplomats working in Libya viewed security provided by highly trained Americans as critical to their safety and mission. The Oversight Committee’s investigation continues to seek answers about why — even as threats against Americans increased — senior State Department officials erroneously decided such security was no longer needed.”

Investigators are exploring whether anyone at the State Department told the Embassy specifically not to request another extension.

Again, this is part of a willful negligence in defending our people in Libya.  This is beyond scandalous and should be the last straw in bringing down Obama, and Hillary as well. . . .  Note that I said "should".

BOMBSHELL: Obama Administration Refused “Repeated Requests for Increased Security in Benghazi”

I know I’ve mentioned the Benghazi, Libya attack and the aftermath already today, but this is huge.  House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa has revealed in a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that our consulate in Benghazi repeatedly asked for increased security but that those requests were declined by Washington.

“Based on information provided to the Committee by individuals with direct knowledge of events in Libya, the attack that claimed the ambassador’s life was the latest in a long line of attacks on Western diplomats and officials in Libya in the months leading up to September 11, 2012. It was clearly never, as Administration officials once insisted, the result of a popular protest,” the committee’s chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., and subcommittee chairman, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, write. “In addition, multiple U.S. federal government officials have confirmed to the Committee that, prior to the September 11 attack, the U.S. mission in Libya made repeated requests for increased security in Benghazi. The mission in Libya, however, was denied these resources by officials in Washington.”

I think this brings down Hillary Clinton.  Her political career is over.

But will this bring down Barack Hussein Obama?  We shall see.  I know enough by now not to underestimate the Mainstream News Media’s commitment to suppressing the truth in service of their Dear Leader.  But this revelation (and it hopefully becoming a campaign issue) may force their hand.

Scandals? What Scandals? UPDATED

One way is which the “Mainstream” News Media has become “an enemy of the American people” in Pat Caddell’s words, is its sweeping what should be scandals from the Obama Administration under the rug.

It takes Univision to give Fast and Furious the attention it deserves.  Obama and Holder are reckless accessories to murder; they cover it up with the help of Obama’s Nixonesque executive privilege claim; and with the notable exception of one intrepid CBS reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, the MSM snoozes.  (And the Obama Regime has given Ms. Attkisson a hard time for her efforts.)

Then Obama and Hillary’s State Department are woefully negligent in securing the embassy in Benghazi, Libya.  And on the day after the attack, Obama skips yet another intelligence briefing and flies off to campaign in Vegas.  Then for days, his regime lies to us about the attack, saying it was a spontaneous demonstration against a dumb youtube video that got out of hand, when they had intelligence within 24 hours that the attack was anything but spontaneous.

----
UPDATE: And now it is coming out that the Benghazi consulate was repeatedly bombed and threatened before the 9-11 attack. And yet still next to nothing was done to secure it?!?
----

To top it off, the Obama Regime is leaning on defense contractors to violate the law and delay layoff notices until after the election, of course.

If this were a Republican administration, the news media would fan these and other outrages into national scandals we would hear about night after night, and said Republican administration would be going down in flames.  (And any Republican administration that incompetent and corrupt would deserve it.)

But, with Obama in the White House?  Scandals, what scandals?

The Obama Administration Lied to Us on Libya

I’ve restrained myself in posting on the attack on our embassy in Benghazi, Libya and its aftermath.  Through this, I wanted to be sure I had my facts straight and understood the big picture.

But now there is no getting around it – the Obama Regime lied to us.  They knew within 24 hours that it was a planned attack by al Qaeda operatives.  Yet for days afterward, they gave us the lie that it was a spontaneous demonstration over a stupid You Tube video that got out of hand.

I’m awaiting the news media outrage.

Sometimes, I hate being right.

Back on February 28th, when the noises from the media were that Qadaffi could go any day now, I said not so fast. He would be around longer than we think.

I had no idea how right I was. To be honest, I did not expect him to survive, but thought getting rid of him would take a long time. Now it looks like he will defeat the rebels.

All while the West and Obama fiddles, plays golf, and makes NCAA picks. Disgusting.

Libya: Not So Fast

On Friday, I heard all sorts of noises that Gadhafi would be out by Monday. But I seriously doubted that. Libya is not Egypt. Unlike Egypt, Libya does not have a strong national army. For Gaddafi (Yes, I like mocking him with the numerous correct spellings.) has intentionally weakened the army through the years and strengthened security forces more under his personal control.

So if Kaddafi wishes to kill as many people as possible and hold out to the bitter end, he probably has the fire power to do so for some time. Indeed the opposition pretty much admits this, conceding they are not ready to take Tripoli, even though much of the Libyan army has defected to the opposition.

Sorry to be a downer, but that madman Gadafi may be around longer than we either think or desire.

Keep praying . . .

Pray for Libya

The situation in Libya is horrific. In order to hold on to power, Gaddafi has even stooped to hiring foreign mercenaries to shoot civilians. It is difficult to sort out rumor from fact, but there are reports of even funerals being attacked.

Let us pray for the people of Libya and for the quick removal of that monster Gaddafi.
