Egypt’s Copts Under Attack

As I feared, the situation of Egypt’s Coptic Christians has become more dire.

Among the recent attacks on Copts is the torching of the Church of St. Mina and St. George and machine-gun attacks on two monasteries. Authorities have done little to nothing to defend Copts from these attacks.

Yes, Muslims are responsible for these outrages. It should be noted, however, that many, perhaps most, Egyptian Muslims are appalled by these attacks. Christianity Today notes that some Muslims even endanger themselves to defend Copts.

Please continue to pray for our Coptic brethren in Egypt.

Cranmer also notes these attacks and rakes the BBC over the coals for ignoring them. The U. S. “mainstream” news media deserve similar imprecations.
