Boehner Reveals Establishment Attitudes Toward Trump, Cruz

Former Speaker Boehner must have had a few before appearing at Stanford last night.  For he let it all hang out, especially in his attitudes toward Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.

Much of the discussion – and laughs – focused on Boehner’s views on the current presidential candidates. Segueing into the topic, Kennedy asked Boehner to be frank given that the event was not being broadcasted, and the former Speaker responded in kind. When specifically asked his opinions on Ted Cruz, Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd.

“Lucifer in the flesh,” the former speaker said. “I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”

Boehner described other Republican candidates as friends. In particular, the former speaker said he has played golf with Donald Trump for years and that they were “texting buddies.”

Further, he said he could vote for Trump in November, but could not vote for Cruz.  And he was the Republican leader in the House?  Can you say “RINO”?

This confirms to me that Boehner is a back-stabbing traitorous establishment tool who had to go.  But that is done, thank God.

So more important is what this says about Ted Cruz and Donald Trump.  As Carly Fiorina well said yesterday, Ted Cruz has the right kind of enemies.  Clearly Boehner is one of them.

So why is Trump the anti-establishment candidate?  He’s one of Boehner’s “texting buddies.”  He is a big contributor to the Clintons and to any number of other Democrats.

But he and not Boehner’s enemy Ted Cruz is the anti-establishment candidate?

A lot of people aren’t thinking.

St. Paul Paraphrased: Want Respect? Act Respectable.

The other day I gave a very simple talk to group of young adults from I Timothy 4:12-16.  St. Timothy, though a very godly man, was not sort to engender a lot of respect at the time.  From reading between the lines of St. Paul’s letters to him, we can see Timothy could be timid at times.  And he was relatively young, yet of delicate health.

And respect was enough of an issue with Timothy that Paul thought it needful to exhort him not to let people disrespect him.

But note the specifics of Paul’s exhortation.  Does he tell Timothy to demand respect?  Does he advise throwing a fit if disrespected in some fashion?  No instead he advises:

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.  Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.  Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.  Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.  Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching.

Paul tells Timothy so to excel in his leadership and conduct that people will want to respect him.  In other words, to get respect, act respectable.

Now this principle is rather obvious, at least to those of an older generation, but you wouldn’t know it by the way some youth (and those who won’t grow up) act today.  Especially on college campuses, Social Justice Warriors especially act in a fashion that begs to be disrespected.  Yet at even the smallest slight or “microaggression,” they pitch a fit.

For example, the Black Lives Matter mob blocks traffic, disrupts speakers, and even those just trying to study, yet demands not just respect but that you dare not say "All Lives Matter." Because that would be racist.  Got it.

Another example…

Indeed, the proper response to “Stop talking to us like children” is “Stop acting like a child.”  Want respect?  Act respectable.

Now I am a bit torn as how much respect should be given to those who not only act in a manner that almost demands disrespect but also attack our freedoms.  Hardly anyone says we should respect Nazis or the KKK.  So why should we respect Communists, Black Racists, Islamonazis, Pink Shirts, and other assorted predatory Leftists?  (No, I do not consider all Leftists predatory. . . .  Just a darn lot of them.)

The answer is all are created in the image of God and therefore should be given some degree of respect.

But if an armed burglar comes into my house, may I suggest there are more important issues than respecting him?  Similarly, exposing and stopping those who are attacking our country, our heritage, and our freedoms - and largely succeeding - seems a bit more important than respecting them.

Again, I am wrestling with this.  Nonetheless, those who are oh-so concerned that society respect them would be well advised to follow St. Paul’s advice -  Want respect? Act respectable.

The Party of Felons – Democrat VA Gov Gives Vote to 200,000 Felons. Hillary Openly Applauds.

I long ago and repeatedly warned that Hillary Clinton would try to steal the 2016 election.  In case anyone is so naïve as to think my warnings overwrought, I direct attention to Virginia.

There the notoriously corrupt Democrat (But I repeat myself.) Governor, with the stroke of a pen, restored the voting “rights” of 200,000 felons.  Yes, that includes many violent felons.

This is not the first time Gov. McAuliffe acted to help Hillary steal the election.

McAuliffe is continuing a pattern. Last year he vetoed a bill that would have helped clean up voter-registration lists. The bill required county court clerks to send to local election officials information about individuals who were excused from jury duty because they were not U.S. citizens or were no longer residents of Virginia. McAuliffe seems intent on making sure that ineligible and illegal voters can continue to vote.

Back to releasing the felon vote for Hillary, it is highly questionable whether he had the authority to do so.  But Democrats are not ones to let the trivial Rule of Law to get in their way.  They are The Party of Felons, after all.

So Hillary, of course, openly applauded McAuliffe’s action.

Trump denounced it.  But guess who donated $25,000 to McAuliffe back in 2009?  And McAuliffe was well known to be a DemocRAT sleazebag well before 2009.

Now Virginia has some very close elections in recent years.  With a corrupt governor obviously determined to steal the election for her by any means possible and with 200,000 felons released to vote, Virginia could foist an illegitimate Hillary Presidency on us.

God help us.

Baptist Update (Or look who’s not in the SBC.)

Last week, many of you may have come across the story of a Baptist preacher, one Allyson/Daniel Robinson, who, speaking to the Alliance of Baptists, claimed an “angel of reason” helped him to see he was really a woman and that “the Bible is wrong,” etc.

Yeah, I bet Eve also found that “angel of reason” pretty convincing when it was hanging out of the tree.

Oh, and also he considers “Job, Gautama Buddha, Joan of Arc, Rumi and Johnny Cash to be [his] spiritual predecessors far more than Augustine, Aquinas or Barth.”

But before you throw your hands up (or just throw up) and say even the Baptists are going to Hell in a handbasket, let me give you a little history.

Back in the late 70’s and 80’s, conservatives in the Southern Baptist Convention had had enough of liberals and moderates controlling key areas of the denomination.  The conservatives therefore systematically and successfully worked to regain control of the denomination through the 80’s and into the 90’s.

I remember the “moderates” and liberals in the SBC insisting that they were not liberal, and that it was those Fundamentalists who were the extremists.

Time has exposed that deception.  (And perhaps it was largely self-deception, but it was deception nonetheless.)  One of the first dissident groups to form, in 1987 when it had became clear the conservatives were in control of the SBC, was the Alliance of Baptists.  Yes, the same group hosting Allyson/Daniel Robinson.

To give another sample of the Alliance of Baptists, look at affiliate Pullen Memorial Baptist Church of Raleigh, now pastored by a lesbian.  Back in my North Carolina days, I remember their pastor back then, W. W. Finlater could be relied upon to run in front of the cameras to oppose just about every good thing Ronald Reagan was doing, including standing up to the Soviets.  A good friend and I dubbed Pullen a “Communist Baptist church.”  If memory serves me right, they also ordained a rabidly pro-abortion woman.

I could go on and on about that “church” but read for yourself.  Trust me, it gets worse.  And Pullen was a member church of the Southern Baptist Convention of long standing.  That was one reason I ruled out the SBC when I was searching for a church back in 1988.  A denomination with that little church discipline was not for me.  Happily, the SBC finally ejected Pullen in 1992.

Back to the big picture, episodes such as Robinson’s speech remind one that the conservative takeover of the Southern Baptist Convention was needful and praiseworthy . . . and that those opponents claiming to be just a bunch of reasonable moderates were hardly that.   And losing many of them was good for the Southern Baptists.  Just look at what the leavers have become – just another bunch of libchurchers.

At times, history works out well.

Fed Judge Rules for Protecting Free Speech from Kamala Harris

Yes, I’ve been quiet this week.  I’ve been fighting off a virus or two, but am doing much better now.

I have some catching up to do, but want to present to you a ruling that protects, for now, the anonymity of donors to Americans for Prosperity.  California Attorney General Kamala Harris – yes, that feminazi again – sought to find out the names.

The ruling is worth reading in part because it itemizes several of the attacks and threats from Leftists against conservatives.  They move the judge to conclude, “this Court is not prepared to wait until an AFP opponent carries out one of the numerous death threats made against its members.”

This episode is quite an eye-opener on the predations of Leftist Brown Shirts . . . and on Leftist politicians like Kamala Harris who enable them.

She, of course, is appealing the ruling to the very liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.  Her political opposition must be harassed and crushed.

By the way, if you had conservative activists engaged in the numerous instances of attacks and harassment listed in the ruling, do you think the noos media would be so quiet about it?

About the Day of Silence

This Friday April 15th, the Day of Silence will be observed in many schools.  As explained at Touchstone:

It is organized by the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (“GLSEN”), and on this day, as described on the GLSEN website, “hundreds of thousands of students across the world take a vow of silence.” The ostensible purpose is to raise “awareness of the silencing effect of anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and discrimination.”

Now I am all for efforts to stop bullying.  To be specific, no kid should be bullied because he or she identifies as gay or is perceived to be gay.  Bullying is wrong, period.  As I’ve posted before, I take bullying personally.

But there is a problem with most gay-backed programs purporting to oppose bullying.  The gay activist organizations themselves engage in bullying against those, even other gays, who disagree with their agenda.  In fact, I once supported an anti-bullying organization until it became clear they backed bullying Christians.  (Sorry, I have forgotten the said organization.)

As for GLSEN, their claim to oppose “discrimination” gives a clue to the bullying they support.  They on their website oppose efforts to protect the religious freedom of those who do not want to participate in gay weddings.  So they are fine with, say, a Christian baker being bullied into baking a cake for a gay wedding under threats of fines and being put out of business.

So, although I personally would not go as far as Touchstone in opposing the Day of Silence, I think it would be appropriate to ask schools hosting DoS and DoS organizers – Should Christians among others be allowed not to participate in gay weddings, in gay activist activities, in the Day of Silence for that matter, and the like without harassment, retribution, punishment or any form of bullying?

If the answer is not a clear “Yes”, then I think it appropriate to point out that those backing an anti-bullying campaign should not at the same time be backing bullying.

And that, of course, would disqualify virtually all gay activist organizations.

Trump Brown Shirts Target Colorado GOP Officials

As much as I dislike and distrust Donald Trump, I should say at the top that a lot of good people are supporting him.  They know the current direction of this country is self-destructive, and they are trying to do their part to turn us around.  Now these good people are in part mistaken; Ted Cruz is a much better and more proven man to oppose the Washington Establishment and restore America, and Trump is not to be trusted.  But these are good people nonetheless.

Having said that, it has become more clear that there is at least an element of Trump’s support that are Nazi-like in their tactics.  And Trump heretofore has done little to discourage them in their predations.

The latest and perhaps most egregious example of that is the harassment and threats against Colorado Republican Party officials.  Trump did not organize well in Colorado at all.  Cruz did and therefore skunked Trump fair and square.  But Trump cried fraud and foul and . . . mainly he cried like the sore loser he is.

And his rhetoric encouraged scum to post the home addresses of officials and to harass and threaten them.   The Party Chairman has received over 3000 calls including death threats.

The conduct of Trump and his camp has gone so far beyond common decency, I hesitate in how to characterize it.  It is not only concerning; it is alarming.  Personally, in light of how unhinged some of Trump’s supporters are, I am beginning to take precautions.  But more importantly, we all need to protect this country and defeat Trump and defeat him quickly.

Sorry if I am terse.  But seeing so many Trumpistas – and Trump himself – act like Leftists has honestly floored me in recent weeks.

Kamala Harris’ Feminazi Police (Supported by Trump)

First, I apologize ahead of time for being slow to post on this.  Sometimes a story comes up that is so important I must post on it yet so provokes me to anger I do not entirely trust myself so to do.  But post I must.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris has turned the CA Department of Justice into a Feminazi state police by raiding the home of citizen journalist David Daleiden, the man whose videos exposed the baby butchery operations of Planned Parenthood.

This raid is the stuff of totalitarian police states.  To sic state police on a citizen because he exposes a politically favored industry, which happens to donate very generously to the political campaigns of Harris, is something that cannot be allowed to stand in America or in any free country.

But, of course, most of the noos media is ignoring this.  When Democrats abuse the power of government to attack citizen political opponents, that is not news.  It’s only news if Republicans supposedly do that.  But journalists ought to be concerned.  For Daleiden is being attacked for committing an act of journalism.  As Ed Morrissey points out:

The issue here is the overwhelming demonstration of government force and its outrageously disproportionate relationship to any potential crime resulting from the kind of undercover journalism routinely performed not just by other activists but also by mainstream media outlets for decades.

Pro-life groups have called for Harris to resign and to withdraw from the U. S. Senate race.  But they should not be the only ones doing so.  And yes, you got that right – Kamala Harris is running to replace Barbara Boxer in the U. S. Senate.

It is time to put our foot down.  Totalitarians like Harris do not belong in high office.  And when they abuse the power of government to attack citizen political opponents for committing acts of journalism and other Constitutional freedoms, then the totalitarians belong in prison.  We cannot allow New Totalitarians like Kamala Harris to turn any part of the United States into a totalitarian state.  And we cannot allow law enforcement officials to turn the forces under them into political attack dogs without severe punishment.  Kamala Harris’ attack on Daleiden may be cheerleaded by some other Feminazi Democrats, but it is not something on which good people may disagree.

When office holders act like Nazis, we should treat them like Nazis and give them what they deserve.  Kamala Harris should be shamed, disbarred and prosecuted.

P. S.  By the way, Donald Trump has donated to the campaigns of Kamala Harris:

Team Trump, Sore Losers

I was surprised twice last night.

First, I was pleasantly surprised by the margin of Ted Cruz’s victory in the Wisconsin Republican Primary.  I expected him to him handily, but the large margin of his victory surprised me (48.2% - 35.1% with all the precincts in).

Second, I was not so pleasantly surprised by the unhinged reaction by Trump and his sycophants.  There was the official campaign statement which continued the “Lyin’ Ted” routine, which accused Cruz of election fraud for the ninth state now . . .

. . . which called Cruz “worse than a puppet,” which . . . .  Hell, just read the awful statement for yourself.  Has Trump never heard of a gracious concession?  Does he really expect Cruz people to ever support him when he continues and escalates this crap?

As for his sycophants, Twitter became even more of a theatre of the absurd last night.  If you can stomach it, examine the feed of one @DaGodfather907, for example . . . carefully.  The gentleman is so unhinged, I am not directly linking him myself.  Last night, he repeatedly compared Cruz to Hitler.  When I called him out on it, he blocked me after a nutty reply.

And if you think he is a one off with 30 followers, he has over 44,000 followers (although I do wonder how many followers of him and other Trumpbots are real).  And I have unfollowed and blocked a number of other Trumpkins who have crossed lines.

Please don’t take this as a comment on all Trump people; I know and respect some good ones.  But last night brought out an element of derangement in Team Trump that goes beyond just being sore losers.

Hock Tuesday

Today is Hock Tuesday . . . .  Yes, unless you are into kidnapping members of the opposite sex or know too much about old English practices, you probably are not celebrating this day or are even aware of it.  Even I, of all people, was unaware until recent weeks.

And it is not clear just exactly how Hocktide should be celebrated or how it was celebrated as it is not observed anymore (except in greatly altered and I suspect sanitized form at Hungerford).  For accounts differ.  How much those differences are due to different celebrations in different locales and how much to the mists of time is also unclear.

Even the reasons for Hocktide are unclear.  (But then who needs reasons to frolic and drink!)  It may have been celebrating the killing of those annoying Danes in times past.  Or it may have had a more mundane connection with the collection of rents.

There seems to be a consensus that on Hock Monday, the second Monday after Easter Sunday, men would capture women and release them for a kiss or a cash ransom.  On Hock Tuesday, the women would reciprocate and capture men to be released for a ransom.  Proceeds would go to the church and the poor.  That sanctified it all, don’t you know.

Or did it? There is some dispute just how much of the proceeds would make it to the poor and to the church.  It has been accused that more actually went towards drink.  That is one reason Henry VIII banned the celebration.  Good Queen Bess allowed it to revive later on.  There were also efforts to suppress Hock Day celebrations back in the 15th century.

I should disclaim that this bit of history is new to me, and I am not at all sure which sources are best.  But this by W. B. Gerish from 1910 best passes my smell test.

I should also disclaim I do not recommend women kidnap men today . . . not that I would mind terribly.

Belgium’s Coddling of Muslims

After an Islamist terrorist attack, there is the usual rubbish that we’ve somehow provoked Muslims to terror.  But really the West has given Muslims far more consideration than they deserve.  In Belgium, as elsewhere in Europe, they have been downright coddled:

Meantime, [Belgium’s] allowing the construction of massive mosques, including one with a 60-foot minaret that will automatically light up during calls to prayer. Authorities even let Muslim hate-preachers sermonize at the subway stations in Brussels, including one known to approach young Muslims and persuade them to go and fight in Syria.

Heavily subsidized by Belgium’s overgenerous welfare system, North African immigrants have little incentive to integrate. Instead they turn inward, creating Islamic no-go zones divorced from and hostile to Western society.

Sharia4Belgium is one of most popular youth organizations in the country. Its young Muslim bullies go around harassing non-Muslims to comply with Sharia law on the street, banning the smoking of cigarettes, the use of alcohol and the sale of pork. Women who don’t cover up get pawed, or worse, raped.

The problem isn’t intolerance. It’s the multiculturalist socialist paradise that the entire European Union affords Muslim immigrants.

As a result, welfare is abused by Muslims across Europe — some 80% of Muslim immigrants to Europe are on the dole, and more than half are “economically inactive.” Muslims claim disability more than any other group.

In the EU capital of Belgium, as well as neighboring Netherlands, Muslims are roughly 5% of the population yet consume 40% to 60% of the welfare budget. Belgium spends more on unemployment benefits than any other country outside Denmark.

European society isn’t oppressing Muslim immigrants. Far from it. It’s coddling them, providing them a comfortable living. And they return the favor by disemboweling their gracious hosts.

Yes, I do think there is a lesson here.  One is unwise to invite peoples hostile to your culture and then not only allow them to continue to be hostile to your culture but also reward them for leeching off your society.

Yes, that is rather obvious if politically incorrect.  It shows how self-destructive Western societies are today that it even has to be said.
