Diocese of SC Website Hacking Follow-up

I more or less broke the story that the website of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina was hacked.  So I thought I should follow-up.

But there is not much to tell.  It is not nearly as exciting as I thought it might be, to be honest.  No one tried to post portraits and sermons of Kate Schori.  Not even any attempts at posting popery.

Moreover, after talking to the diocese and to a techie friend, I doubt the diocese was a target.  It is more likely a hacker was going after a host and wouldn't know a diocese from dice.  But hackers usually don’t leave calling cards, so we may never know.

Oh, and the website is back up, of course.  Thanks be to God.
