. . . will NOT be from GM or Chrysler. I refuse to reward Obama’s bashing of bondholders and rewarding of unions, unions that helped bring down those automakers.
That’s not to mention that at around 50,000 miles already, it’s obvious my current GM pick-up (Yes, all Texans drive pick-ups, wear cowboys hats . . . .) is cheaply made, with a running light out, a window not working, etc.
It’s bad enough my tax dollars are rewarding such failure and irresponsibility, and political pay-offs to unions. I’ll be d**ned if my future purchases further reward such.
There might be a Ford in my future.
That's probably sensible on your part, especially as to Chrysler. Apparently the Germans gutted the company. The Twentieth Cent--- err, Chrysler is just a shell of what it once was and I will be (pleasantly) shocked if they build cars with any quality whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteGood idea, except for Ford's pro-gay philosophy.
ReplyDeleteToyota has a plant near San Antonio, so if you are looking for a truck not made in Canada or Mexico....

ReplyDeleteOh, I'll give a number of pick-up makers a chance.
ReplyDeleteYes. I gotta have a pick-up.
wannabe
Mark,
ReplyDeleteThere are only two "real" pickup trucks on the Market in the US right now; The Ford F150 and the Dodge Ram. With Chrysler out of the question, that leaves only the F150 (or F250 and up if you need heavier duty). The Toyota is an "ok" truck unless you want to actually use it as a truck.
Do the following test, go to your local Toyota Dealer and then Your Ford dealer. Ask each of them for TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS on their trucks. Make the comparison based on that rather than "bells and whistles". Particularly compare towing capacities.
Also, TEST DRIVE both vehicles and bounce the thing around.
If you have any questions, just ask.
(I was a Ford Sales Consultant and Truck Manager for a number of years until I found something else.)
