Zen Buddhist Expected to be Elected TEC Bishop

No. This is not a joke.

But this is beyond satire. What is an Anglican blogger to do? How do you send up The Episcopal Church when it is already so absurd?

I give up.

I call it the Episcopal event horizon. That is the point beyond which you literally CANNOT make jokes about the Episcopalians anywmore.

  2. And we Episcopalians wonder why we con't grow our churches?

  3. Let's see if the candidate for bishop actually "believes in nothing" or is using some tools to further his Christianity.

    Thomas Merton could.

    We don't know enough yet.

(Let me add that a path like Thomas Merton doesn't float my boat, but that mean it can't float others' boats.)

I just read the article on the new Bishop in northern Michigan. In the left panel of this web page is a statement of the "Traditional Angelicanism in America" which contains a belief to "Be loving in everything you do". Can you say hypocrisy?
